“Mind Mechanics”
The Conscious Mind
Mentoring Program

Lesson One:

Healing the environment of your mind

I want you to know you can take back FULL CONTROL of your own mind and life. I only know the way because I paved it for myself and anyone else who dreams of a world where we’re all operating at our fullest potential - no matter what struggles we’re currently facing, individually or collectively.

It’s a personal choice we can all make: to continue suffering, or to evolve.

I’m going to start by telling you a story (an excerpt from my second novel Telepathy Between Hearts):

“I was sitting down and I had a toke.

A minute later, I wanted another one.

This is the truth of the compulsion of my addiction and how deeply rooted it is. I know I need to transmute through this habit, and have started shining a light on it. I don’t want to always feel like I need it when I’m around it. I want to be in control of it.

I became aware that the stream of thoughts circling through my mind at that moment were about having another toke. I even heard DJ Khaled’s voice shoutout in the back of my mind ‘Anotha one!’

I sat for two minutes with my head in my hands and breathed deeply. I asked the thoughts to pass. I told myself I loved myself and that I was protected. But I still had urges to have the toke.

I wasn’t going to give in that easily. I decided to challenge the thoughts. I stood up and walked to the mirror in the living room, and I looked into my eyes.

I asked myself ‘Why do I want it?’

An immediate response arose from within me... ‘Pain.’

In my mind, I told myself ‘But I’m not in pain anymore.’

There was silence for a few seconds while the addict in my mind tried to think of another reason.

It couldn’t.

‘I don’t know, I just want it...’ It told me.

I recognized the lie within and caught it instantly.

“I need it.” I replied, correcting It.

I decided to make a deal with myself.

‘Can we wait for 20 minutes and have another toke at 1:00pm?’

In the next moment, I realized there are truly two voices inside me. One was lovingly guiding me along my true path, and the other was putting obstacles in my way that didn’t align with who I wanted to be anymore.

I recognized both in that moment and how I perceived them to be separate, only to realize they’re a team. I saw the innocence in my own eyes and knew in that moment these unhealed aspects of myself would eventually fully surrender to my own conscious love. I witnessed my soul having compassion toward my inner addict… not judging or punishing it.

I was just staring into my own eyes, loving every part of me. I knew I was going to have another toke, and it was okay. I realized this was a lesson or ‘personal assignment', and would likely come up again to teach me how to accept and hold loving space for this wounded aspect of myself.

I came back to my computer and the very first thing I did was write about what just happened. I knew this experience would serve a purpose. While I was writing, the urge to toke was gone. That’s the piece you’re reading right now.

Twenty minutes later, at 1:04pm, I had my second toke.

Delaying gratification is an actual way to strengthen your willpower. I was proud of the fact I was able to have an honest conversation with myself and delay the toke by 20 minutes. (This is a form of conscious communication with self that I’m hoping to teach to others via my conscious mind mentoring program.)

Any progress is still progress (slow and steady), and I was thankful I understood more clearly how to handle these behaviours in myself when they arise now.”

Back to the Lesson:

This story shows how the Universe [ <Insert Name of Your God/Creator here>] communicates to us through our minds, sending us guiding thoughts and impulses (ie. Intuitive impressions, gut feelings, gentle thoughts) to help direct us toward our true paths - which each soul charted out like a map (or blueprint) before we were born. Together, both lessons of this program will show you how life is a collective scavenger hunt that is set up by a divine intelligence so that each soul has the opportunity to discover tiny gems or “clues” that will lead us down certain rabbit holes to assist us in gaining profound personal insight about our purpose here on earth.

Whatever you’d like to perceive this guiding force as is up to you - you can make it as personal as you want! You can even name it. I think of mine as an inner lighthouse, leading all my dark thoughts home.

Disclaimer: Please note that everything I’m about to explain here is my personal interpretation of life and I’ve come to these conscious understandings from living through my own experiences.

HOWEVER - please don’t simply take my word for it!

I encourage you to apply the following conscious practice to your own life so that you can feel it’s powerful effects. The best part!? It costs you nothing other than a bit of mental effort, and lots of patience.

DID YOU KNOW that most people on this planet are unconsciously bouncing their thoughts off each other? As a result, our inner light dims as more negative thoughts and energies begin to take up residence in our minds and energy fields. Negative thoughts are contagious and can easily spread to others. Living in this world, it becomes normal for us to welcome worry and stress into our daily lives… we don’t even realize we’re putting our bodies into constant panic mode by doing so.

These are the negative, fear-based thoughts of the inner shadow, which is more concerned with keeping its current reality and perception intact. It’s comfortable there because it’s our comfort zone. Our shadow may distract us with an inner narrative of negative thoughts and feelings simply because it might not know any better. In fact, the universe could be screaming at us from the rooftops to pay attention to its loving presence in our lives but our shadow will still create barriers so that you don’t heed the call. The shadow will do this by triggering an uncomfortable feeling in you (such as judgement or anger) to set an energetic boundary between you and any information you’re absorbing that may stray from your comfort zone.

Emotions, thoughts, and feelings can’t be seen with the naked eye but we all know how very real they are when they’re occurring inside or around us. The shadow sends thoughts of disbelief or condemnation to stop us in our questioning tracks - to save itself, while muffling out the voice and purpose of our true self… the voice of the soul.

This is the inner voice I would like to help you uncover.

Note: this program is about changing the environment upon which your thoughts (like seeds) can grow and be nurtured inside your mind. This guiding force could care less if you’re fit or unhealthy, what colour your skin is, or about the mistakes you’ve made in the past. As long as you make the conscious effort to claim your inner power and invite presence into your mind through moment-to-moment conscious remembrance, life will reveal itself to you in a new way that will transform you forever.

During this program, try to be consistent and patient with your mental and emotional effort. All that’s required is your conscious effort in choosing the thoughts you think rather than letting thoughts choose you.

Honestly, what do you have to lose other than negative thoughts?

Our souls are very sensitive. I’ve learned the reason so many of us have turned to unhealthy coping mechanisms (ie. binge-eating, smoking, drinking, gambling, sex, etc.) is because our bodies are literally acting as human sensors that reflect and project the current state of the collective mind.

When you think a thought, it goes out into the collective consciousness and has your energy signature attached to it. Think of it like a petition - a list of names or ‘energy signatures’ of people who have all contributed to a particular thought and to the physical vibration or frequency emitted by the thought. This occurs for both negative and positive thoughts. In essence, thoughts are stamped with your personalized vibration, and go out into the collective consciousness and vibrate toward other people who are resonating at the same vibratory level as you - think of this as a form of energetic karma.

When the light of your own awareness is turned on, it flashes onto your fears as they’re running through your mind, and they’ll eventually be absorbed (transmuted) by your awareness. This is a form of energetic, mental and emotional transmutation, or alchemy. Your negative thoughts, feelings and emotions will see that light (your awareness) is now present and that they’ll need to find a different unconscious mind (or host) to set up camp in. Negative thoughts can only feed on, thrive and create in unconscious parts of yourself.

Negative thoughts must honour the soul’s choice to awaken to its true purpose. Your conscious decision to evolve to a more love-based consciousness means they can no longer take up residence in your mind. It’s time to evict these unwanted guests! They probably won’t give up without a good fight, in fact, your negative thoughts may get worse for a few days before they get better. Your shadow will do this to protect itself, but you’ll get through it if you persevere.

Keep it up, and over time, those thoughts will pack up and leave. This could take days for some thoughts and behaviours, and weeks, months, or even years for the deeper ingrained ones. This is because we’ve stored many false thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours within ourselves, and once gave them the energy and attention to exist inside our mind, and therefore, in our worlds. It takes time to unravel ourselves from the unconscious mess we created. If it helps, try to think of time as a form of energetic currency.

As more souls wake up to the true nature of a loving reality (by discovering it first inside their own minds), dark thoughts have nowhere to go. This is the space where transmutation and healing takes place. Once you’ve transmuted through all your own negative thoughts, you’ll see through the illusion of the shadow. As our collective consciousness evolves, those still stuck in the grasp of their unhealed shadows and discordant realities will feel their negative thoughts fall heavier and deeper because there’s less collective energy being fed into those kind of thoughts.

The last thing sensitive souls need is to feel guilty and judge or condemn our own selves for the things we do and ways we cope with living in this oftentimes harsh world.

My advice while doing conscious work with this program is not to try and immediately quit any of the things you may turn to currently to help you cope (as long as your life or another’s life is not at risk). All you need to focus on at the beginning is changing your mindset in the exact moment you participate in these behaviours.

The main goal is to start injecting more conscious presence and love into your thoughts. Our mind is connected to our body. When you see someone that’s super fidgety - ie. they who can’t stop moving and are always keeping busy, or their mouth is going a mile a minute - it’s a good indication their mind is in a mirrored state and racing in a thousand different directions. This is often why people clean when they feel anxious or worried. It helps them process their thoughts in an unconscious (but healthy) way. What isn’t processed will be stored deep within our bodies and can turn into more permanent fidgety tics that can become similar to what I experienced when I was younger (Tourette Syndrome). The anxieties of the shadow get buried so deep into our bodies they can become a physical part of us - right along with a bully voice in our mind.

When you’ve consciously removed yourself from the program of unconsciousness, you can easily observe it in other people. This is one of the abilities that comes with detaching yourself from the confines of your limiting shadow.

Instructions for Lesson One:

There are only 2 steps to this lesson. The key to success with this program is patience with yourself and consistency in applying this practice to your everyday life no matter what’s going on in your outer world.

Step 1) Pick a positive, love-based affirmation such as “I love myself”

I chose “I love myself” because I knew those three words would be a powerful tool to wake me up to my true life's purpose. Plus, that's exactly what my inner voice told me to do.

Just start loving yourself.”

When you’re first starting this journey, I’d recommend picking only one powerful affirmation to consciously inject into your mind on a consistent basis, otherwise your shadow may fool you into feeling overwhelmed and you’ll conveniently ‘forget’ to inject anything at all. The shadow can be quite the trickster!

Focus on a loving set of words that feel the most home to you… an affirmation that makes your soul feel safe, no matter what.

Here are some common affirmations I use:

“I love myself.”
“I am safe, loved, and protected.”
“It is safe to be me.”
“I trust myself”
“I am healed by love.”
“I am love.”
“I am light.”

If you can’t think of an affirmation that resonates with you, use “I love myself”. These three words will always steer you in a more loving, positive direction.

Step 2) As you go about your daily activities and engage in negative behaviours, thoughts, feelings, and emotions you normally feel or engage in, become conscious in the moment and inject your loving affirmation.

As you’re in the middle of thinking a repetitive stream of fearful thoughts or participating in an ‘unhealthy’ behaviour, give yourself the space to observe the experience without adding guilt to the experience.

Instead, invite love in! Repeat your chosen affirmation to yourself all day long, any time you remember. Some days, you might only remember once. Other days, you’ll remember much more, maybe even hundreds of times a day. Go with the flow - each day will be different. Don’t feel bad about forgetting, just try again tomorrow. Time is a tool that exists for this very reason.

The goal is for you to observe more and react less to the negative thoughts inside your mind (so you don’t feed more negative energy into them.) Instead, you’ll begin to notice that you are, in fact, observing a negative thought or feeling. Unravel yourself from feelings of judgment or shame. Just observe it and consciously inject your loving affirmation, if you can remember to.

Once you start remembering to inject love on a consistent basis, it’ll be easier and loving thoughts will come to you more naturally. Love will eventually become your natural vibrational state and this will ripple outward in your aura, your eyes, your expression, and your actions.

We can also bring this awareness into other parts of our life. Once you’ve cleared all the negative chatter from your mind, you’ll eventually get to a point where you’re around negative people and you’ll be able to simply hold space for their negative emotions to exist - to silently validate their right to feel whatever it is they feel, yet realizing with your own loving awareness that you don’t have to react to, feed into, or be scared of the emotions of others. Everyone is acting out their own daydream, and if we don’t resonate with another soul’s version of life, we have the right to place our attention elsewhere (instead of feeding into their reality with our own valuable energy).

This is a boundary sensitive souls must claim and set for ourselves.

Here are a list of feelings/emotions/types of thoughts to inject your affirmation into
(affirmation acting as a dose of conscious love):

Fear (not feeling safe)
Insecurity, low self-esteem, negative self-image
Judgment, condemnation (of self and/or others)
Doubt, disbelief
Anger, resentment, hatred
Boredom, loneliness
Regret, holding on to something/can't let go of past
Repetitive coping behaviours (anxious tics, turning to food, cigarettes, sex, alcohol or drugs)
Shame/Guilt
Rigidness/Need for control/Inflexibility
Sadness, Depression, Despair, Grief
Stress, worry, anxiety
Etc.

Inject love into your mind ANYTIME you remember to. It doesn't only have to be in the middle of a negative thought, feeling, or behaviour. You can inject it when you’re doing the dishes, falling asleep, walking your dog, folding laundry, or taking a shower. When you say it, you’re literally giving your malnourished mind a healthy dose of love. Doing this will only increase the amount of loving seeds being planted in your mind for sowing and reaping later.

I often say my affirmation when I hear fear-filled emergency vehicle sirens blaring through the street - to remind myself that everything serves a purpose. It helps instantly to bring my mind back to a place of trust.

This all may seem too easy to be true. I can tell you from personal experience that changing the thought patterns within your mind while those programs are operating is one of the hardest things you can do, but also one of the easiest - as long as you’re consistent and authentic in your effort.

It can be easy or difficult for you depending on your motivation level and desire for change. This lesson asks you to override your negative thoughts, emotions, feelings, habits, and behaviours anytime you remember while they’re occurring in your reality. I promise it’ll become easier the more you do it! Once the seed of love has been planted in your mind, your physical world will reverberate with changes, and there will be no going back to a lower state of thinking, feeling, or being.

Imagine your mind is getting a software update. The expired, out-of-date version disappears and is replaced by the newer, updated version. Now, you have the tools you need to transform your life and become a conscious creator in your life.

By becoming aware of our shadow (our ‘outdated software’), and blessing it instead of cursing it, we set our minds free and are thus bestowed with the power to set free the minds of others.

One final thought:

Life doesn’t want you to do anything that doesn’t bring you joy. For example, if the thought of going to workout at a gym fills you with dread, there’s a reason for that! That's your inner navigational system sending you a clear signal - “ALERT!!! Not your path!!!”

Perhaps going outside for a leisurely walk and listening to the symphony of the birds and finding inspiration in the beautiful colours of nature is what brings you the most joy. Every soul is different - find what is meant for you! When something resonates in your soul, you know.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions, or if you would like further guidance with this program.

“Beyond the sun and the moon, there lies a realm that defies all logic and time. The key is in the heart, the entrance is through your mind; once you cross that portal, you are One with the Divine. Yet the Divine has no purpose but to Shine, like the stars in the night sky or a lighthouse on the beach, helping the ones who are lost in the dark and cannot see.” - Unknown

****OPTIONAL**** Rating System – (A way for you to review your personal progress)

Assign a notebook or journal to record your Awareness Level at the end of each day for the first few days, weeks, or even months until you feel a significant improvement in your mental and emotional environments.

At the end of each day, rate yourself a number between 1-5 according to the following scale (use half marks or quarter marks if you would like, do whatever feels right to you).

1 = None/very little conscious awareness injected into your mind

2 = Some conscious awareness injected

3 = Neutral point – you believe you injected a balanced amount of conscious awareness into your mind (you had neither more positive thoughts or more negative thoughts... there seemed to be a good balance)

4 = Mostly conscious awareness injected.... over 75% of your thoughts and feelings were created with love/were switched to positive thoughts and feelings.

5 = Only conscious awareness present. Love would be your constant state of being. Negative thoughts can no longer reach you here unless you are picking them up from someone around you. However, you’d be so conscious at this point that you would know you were picking up a negative energy from someone and that it wasn’t your own. At some point, when you become skilled enough, your awareness will have the power to transmute it for them.

Note: Sometimes the unconscious world will pull you back in for days, months, or even years at a time and that is part of the adventure of life. Pick yourself back up whenever you remember.

Level 1-2 is to be expected for the first two weeks. You may accelerate quicker or slower, everyone is different. Go at your own pace.

****OPTIONAL**** Reflection:

At the end of each week (or whenever you feel inspired to – at least 2-3 times throughout the next two weeks), record in your notebook a few sentences with the date and how you’re feeling in the morning and/or before bed. You may be feeling more emotional than usual so take notice.

Ie. What is the current environment of your mind? Are you hopeful? Are you beginning to sense the power of your awareness? Do you still feel muddled under heavy thoughts? Are you experiencing doubt in all this? You may also note any physical changes (a sense of feeling lighter, tics disappearing, inner peace, less racing thoughts, feeling relieved from anxiety, etc.)

This feedback will help to give yourself clarity on how the program is working for you.
